Our Going Ons

Layla and I are still just loving every second of being home with our Utah family, but miss our Lance so so much. We are definitely staying busy though. Monday we returned home from Altonah, Tuesday night we went to my cousin, Creedon's, seminary graduation then Derrick brought over some delicious homemade blueberry and raspberry pies. MmmMmm.. Wednesday we just hung out with Grandma Shellie and helped with Grad night stuff, Thursday we took a trip to Orem and Salt Lake and visited with a dear friend, McKenzie. Friday I watched Zadie and little Romo. Poor Zadie woke up not feeling well so our day was cut short, then that night we went to Creedon's high school graduation. After the graduation we ate a delicious dinner! Saturday morning we got up and went to Yaeger and Kennedy's soccer game, then to little Trev and JarMan's t-ball games, which by the way, were absolutely hilarious. After the games we came home got some lunch and Grandma Shellie and Grandpa Foston headed to bed. (They were up all night for Grad night) Then Layla and I were off to Grandma Marcia's to visit and play with Trev, Jar, and Sela. After all that we came home and made some yummy cookies for after church today. We had a great week and our time here is just flying by. We're looking forward to having Lance here with us and enjoying our family as much as we do! Here's pictures of throughout the week!

Can you tell this is Lance's brother? Layla just LOVES him. I think she can see the resemblance. It's like she's trying to figure out who he is. And he talks just like him too.
This is after graduation. Scott and Marcie had a dinner for Creedon along with some of his fellow classmates.
Jayk and Christy
Ken Ken. She sure is growing up.
Creedon doing what he does best. Whoopin on Tanner. Poor fella.
Jeff and Cat
Trev all ready for his t-ball game. It was so fun to watch.
What a cute 3rd baseman!
This is what my mom looks like when she stays up all night. We were afraid she'd fall off the bleachers!
Great Grandma Marcia and Layla
Great Grandpa Bill and Layla
Peyton and Sela (I think she looks just like Dane)
JarBear on first base. Well... playing with the first base, I mean.
Trev up to bat.
They all love to help feed Layla. We had to give her some Apple Prune Juice, I'm sure you all know why.
Did I mention the weather is BE-U-ti-FUL! Oh my. We can sit outside feeling dry and free of all the bugs! It's wonderful.

Altonah

Altonah is such a special place for our family. It was built by my Great-Grandpa James about 30 years ago and he wanted it to be a place were our family would always meet and get together. We've made the most cherished memories there. Every Memorial weekend and Labor Day weekend we pack up and go camping. The weather was pretty cool and rainy this past weekend, but we made the best of it and still had so much fun!
Does this look like trouble or what!
Layla and Grandma Marcia. This is who we're both named after. She's a pretty special grandma.

This is the pavillion my great-grandpa built. It's actually where his parents' house used to stand.
Derrick and JarMan. He's only 4 and loves driving these big motorcycles. Oh boy...
Catlin and Jeff. Can anyone say wedding bells!?

Love this.
Layla hated having a jacket on. She would just squeal when I'd put it on her. I guess it's because she doesn't hardly wear anything in Mississippi. It's to dang hot to!
Papa and all the grandkids. Poor Brodster was smushed between Shelbe and Sela.

Trying to stay warm!
Good ol Aunt Lorna. This is right after Derrick layed one on her!
This grill is amazing. My great grandpa also welded it. We've made the most delicous breakfasts' on it!

Finally the last day we were there we were able to be outside more. Layla loved it!

Romo tryin to get some more oreos.

Gotta love those legs!

We had such a great weekend but Layla and I had a special someone missing. It just isn't the same without you babe. I'm so glad we can skype with you everyday. We love you!

Yesterday was a pretty sad but exciting day. Layla and I packed up and headed to my home town, Vernal, UT, for a month. Lance will be working hard for our family so won't join us until June 17th. We miss him so much already. Traveling alone yesterday, on two seperate planes really made me appreciate all he does for me and brings to my attention how much he takes off of my shoulders. He's such a special guy, and the love I have for him just can't be put into words. I'm so blessed that he cares so much for me that he'll let me leave for a month to spend time with my family. I love you baby and miss you so much. Can't wait till the 17th!
Now, as for the plane ride here and the 3 hour drive from Salt Lake. Layla was an ANGEL! We left at 7:55 in the morning had a layover in Chicago for 45 min., boarded that plane at 10:55am and finally got to Salt Lake at 1:20PM. Everyone on the plane just kept complementing on what a good baby she was, and she was so friendly to everyone. She rearly meets a stranger. Finally, the last half hour of the drive home she lost it! She had had enough, and wanted out of her car seat. I believe I asked to much of her in one day, but I was so proud of her. I was more of a wreck than she was! And she slept great last night too. I just couldn't ask for more.
To start off our month long adventure we're going camping to our favorite place, Altonah. I'll have pictures soon!

BBQ Time

I have mixed feelings about this time of the year. I never did, until I moved to Mississippi. OMG, the summer's are dreadful, I always feel so sticky and hot! But we still love to BBQ, so I'll just have to deal with it. We've actually had a few bbq's already, but I decided I better break out the camera for this one. Of course, the weather didn't work with us, but we made the best of it and still had a good time. I tell you what, these southern boys sure do know how to grill. (Derrick you better be ready!)

That sausage is to die for.

Poor Lance. He gets tired of taking pictures. I just remind him that he'll thank me someday.
One of our cousins just got re-married and this is his wife's little girl, Natalie. She's such a sweetheart and we're so glad that they're in our wild and crazy family. Layla just loved her! She sat on her lap for about 30 minutes, then Natalie was ready to get up and play.
Notice she's starting to like her binkie. But only sometimes... she decides when.
Layla's first boyfriend, Ethan... I don't know like the sound of that. He wasn't to interested in her, but she just kept touching and starring at him.

These next few pictures are just random. I'm telling her to "say cheese..."
Now she does it while she's awake, and laughs. Silly girl. There isn't a day that goes by that she doesn't put a big grin on my face.
I love this. She just sits next to her daddy and watches TV. Priceless...
