Park Play date

We try to do a play date once a week with our little friends.
Right now, we're taking full advantage of the "spring" weather and spending our
days outside, at the park!

Friends

I was able to get together with some of my greatest friends while I was home.
Some I haven't seen in a few years, and it was so nice to catch up with all
of them. The funnest thing about it was seeing all of our kids play together.

I can't believe we're that old!
Old enough to have kids playing together!!
Seems like yesterday we were all cheering together.

their first sleepover (at our house)

Layla and Brooklyn had their first sleepover at our house this last weekend.
I love watching how excited they both get as they prepare to have sleepovers.
Layla had slept at her house last weekend, so this weekend it was Brooklyn's turn to come
to our house. I think Starling and Wendi were a bit nervous as to how she'd do, but she did awesome.
I put Tangled in for her and Layla and by 10:30PM she had passed out on the floor.
Here Layla is checking on her...

When Layla noticed that she was asleep she said (with a yawn) "I'm tired Mom, I think we should go
to bed." So I picked up tiny little Brooklyn, that weighs as much as Marx, I swear, then we all
to a trip to the potty, so we wouldn't have any accidents. When I put Brooklyn on the toilet, she looked at me with her little tired eyes and said, "Oh, Jet-si, I'm so tired." I said, "I know baby, let's go potty so we don't have an accident, then I'll tuck you and Layla in bed." She then gave me a little grin. So off to bed they were. I tucked them in around 10:45 and they slept till nearly 8:45 the next morning! I had got up to take a picture of them, then crawled back in bed with my hubby to enjoy actually staying in bed, cause let's face it, it rarely happens that our children sleep till nearly 9:00AM on Saturday mornings!

At 8:45 I heard Brooklyn say, "Oh Layla! I slept at your house, all night long!" So I ran in the bedroom to snap another picture of their bed head and sleepy swollen eyes.

Their next request was chocolate donuts, and because I want to be the fun mom, that all of Layla's friends love, Lance and I loaded them in the car and went and got them chocolate donuts.
You would've thought they were in heaven!

Brooklyn wouldn't even take her eyes off of her donut for a picture.

And we can't forget about little man.
He liked his donut too!

a few more shots from the park

I'm researching lenses for my camera.
I'm leaning towards a 50mm lens.
Soo,
I played around with my friend Wendi's and I'm sold.

I told Lance that's what I want for mother's day! :)

park date

you know what's sad?
this wonderful city of hattiesburg that I live in doesn't have a big community park.
it's ridiculous.
so me and my friends had to drive our kiddlets 20 min. out of town to go to a park that didn't even have swings!
BUT
we still had a great time.
and enjoyed the spring weather, that we'll probably only have for a couple weeks before it's in the mid 80's with 100% humidity.
oh wait, it was in the mid 80's last week with 90% humidity, so it's already here!
crazy southern weather!

i love how he chews with his front teeth. adorable!

marx and brighton

i watched wendi's kids for her yesterday while she got her hair done.
marx and brighton were so cute together on the floor.
they'd just stare, trying to figure each other out.
they're both growing way to fast.

i wish i would have taken these pics with my camera instead of my phone.
still cute...

his special day

on July 3rd, 2011 little marx was blessed.
it's such a sacred thing to be able to hear a blessing come from our Heavenly Father, to Father, to baby.
i'm so blessed to have a husband that holds his priesthood so dear so that he can give our
 babies these sweet blessings.

it was a special day.
his special day...

she just adores him...

grandma and papa chivers wouldn't have missed it for the world.

it was Brighton's special day too.
hopefully these little guys will grow up to be great friends and examples to each other.

my children are adorable... (:
they make me smile.

after the blessing we had our friends and family join us for a yummy lunch.
thanks to everyone that spent this day with us.
marx is a very loved little boy.

our first chick-fil-a opening

if you've read my dear friend wendi's blog, then you've heard of chick-fil-a openings.
her and her husband starling are hard core chick-fil-a opening goers.
so hard core that she went to an opening when her baby brighton was only 2 weeks old, and to this past opening having mastitis! hard core i tell ya.
i think they've been to 7 openings so far.

if you're not familiar with how they work visit chick-fil-a's first 100.
lance and i showed up and were given #'s 106 and 107.
sooo...
we had to wait all night to even see if we'd make the first 100 by 6:00am.
we crossed our fingers for some drop outs.

not knowing if we'd make it, we still put up our tent, got out our lawn chairs, and prepared ourselves
for a great night with our friends. chick-fil-a fed us a great dinner, supplied ice water, and put on some
great games for everyone. it was a fun night.
(even though it was horribly hot and humid!)

we took marx along for the adventure since i'm nursing and not quite ready to leave him over night.
layla stayed with her grandma and papa and was spoiled with loves!

isn't baby brighton just adorable!?
i could just nibble on him all day. i love his little rolls.
can you see the resemblance in him and his daddy?

the oreo game.
wendi rocked it and won.
look how funny the lady in the blue tie die looks.

you have to be completely exhausted to be able to sleep like little brooklyn is.
she's a doll and totally just goes a long with the flow.

anxiously waiting at the very end of the line to see if we made it!!

lance and i ended up being 98 and 99.
soo...
we received 104 free vouchers for free food at chick-fil-a!
that's over a $600.00 value.

i'd totally do it again.

miss 2 is now 2 and a half

oh.my.gosh
this girl is a hoot.
and has quite the imagination.
i'm totally loving this stage.
not so much loving the part where she malls her little brother half to death.
(i sure do pray he makes it through his first year of life)
or the part when i'm constantly telling her, "no layla", "stop layla", "be soft layla"
but totally loving the part where she says the funniest little things.
has such adult conversations with me, or at least tries.
or absolutely loves that she wants to help me with everything, including doing my hair.
i could have my hair played with all day!

this is where her imagination comes in.
the little balled up wipe on the left is her pet chi chi. and the rock on the right is her turtle.
she'll ask me to pet them softly and to hold them carefully.
she'll even tell me to be quiet when they're napping.
(don't worry, i give her a new wipe everyday to call her pet chi chi)

she loves her little friend brooklyn.
there is not one day that goes by when she doesn't ask to either go see her of have her come over.
i love this pic of them both in their undies.

she's quite good at trying to be a momma herself.
poor brighton and marx.
whenever she holds them she'll try and through them up on her shoulder and burp them.
oh she'll rock them back in forth
(in not the most smooth motion)
and tell them to, "shhh shhh shhh.."
even when they're sound asleep.

and yes, i know you're all thinking, "does she ever dress her child?"
i do.
sometimes.
but it's so hot here in the south.
you'd only understand if you lived here.
if i could, i'd walk around in my undies all day too. (:
