this makes me happy

Yesterday the kids and I loaded up, went to town and bought ourselves some pretty little flowers to plant in our pots. There's just something about beautiful, colorful flowers.
They put a smile on my face.

(yes, marx tore off the petal on my poppy)

horizontal

Last week I had a little fun and painted some horizontal lines in our guest/kids bathroom.
It was stressful for a moment, because everything I was researching on "how to
tape and paint horizontal lines" just wasn't helping.

I was having a hard time getting the taping EXACTLY straight.
Really all I needed to do was ask my hubby.
He told me to try using my straight edge that I use when I cut fabric to make the lines.
Then tape.
Duh Jessie!
That's why I need him.

Anyway, I love how it turned out.
Now I just need to accessorize the walls.

Next project:
Our Entry way!

my flower bed

i know..
you're probably thinking, "how boring! a post about her flower bed?"
but honestly, seeing these beautiful, colorful flowers each day as i pull into our garage puts a
smile on my face.
flowers just make me happy.

my wonderful husband got our flower bed ready for me over mother's day weekend.
then my mom and i picked out all the plants and planted them.
i don't know what i would've done without her.
actually i do know...
i probably wouldn't have any plants yet!

now i just need somekind of shrub to put against the house.

we finally have internet..

..so let's get caught up!

The first thing Lance did the day we moved in was put our beds together.
Well, I thought we should make Layla's crib into a toddler bed and see how she'd do.
She did great the first couple nights.
But then, one morning I could hear her crying and when I went into her room she was no where to be seen.
She was actually underneath the bed, and did it the next morning too.
I'm not sure if she would fall off the bed and roll under or what, but soon after we put the front of the bed back on. She just wasn't ready.
Soo.. she's still in her crib.

She loves that duck..

I took this pic the morning after we moved in.
It makes me nauseous looking at it, but no worries, it's all clear now.

Labor Day:
Dane and Lacey invited us to their friends' Jared and Katie's.
Who we now consider our friends.
They are great and I just adore their three little boys.
I think they'll take great care of Layla.

Jack and Cooper loved this waterslide..

Layla did not..

It was absolutely hilarious watching her go down the first time.
Lance went with her the second time and she still hated it.
Her face is priceless.
This is Briggs.
Isn't he adorble.
I love his long eye lashes.

Mr. Cooper...

He really does like Layla,
just not so much sportin his ride with him.

I took this so I'd have a memory of what Layla had to eat at before we got our kitchen table delivered, along with her high chair.
She was a sport.
Uncle Greg and Aunt Amanda brought up her sprinker.
She was in Heaven.

The Saints have been playing..
and they're winning!
Who Dat!

She's into "dress up"
Somehow she thought her red tights looked great with this pink onesie.
And still does her tricks.
This one is called "no hands"

We made chocolate chip cookies for our new neighbors...

She's constantly right behind her daddy helping him with his honey do list.

And now we're helping her get used to this concept...
That's right Baby Spiers #2 is on it's way.
April 30, 2011 to be exact.
I'm 8 weeks in and feel miserable.
And let's face it when the big white porcelin bowl in the bathroom get's more hugs than your husband, you just don't feel like going anywhere.

Layla has been such a good sport.
She'll sit with me by the toilet and say,
"I sawry mommy.."
Just breaks my heart.

So, back to not going anywhere, we stay in most of the time and she does stuff like this to entertain herself...

this labor day weekend...

...we'll be moving into our new home!

Thus far, my wonderful sister-in-law Lacey has helped me deep deep clean it and paint a few accent walls.

We both loved how they turned out. Thanks a million Lacey!

I have fun ideas for our small laundry room.
More like laundry closet.

Master bedroom:

I'm going with this color scheme...

So long for now!
I'm sure it will be a couple weeks before we get our internet connection.
And, a couple weeks before I'll have a little time to sit down and blog again!

Happy Labor Day

another exciting chapter

Rememeber on this post how I'd said that we'd been up to some pretty exciting things?
Well, this is what we have been up too....

This is our brand new home!

10 months ago, when we moved in with Preston and Sue our plans were to pay off all debt and save money to move back to Utah. Well, we did all, but move back to Utah. When I went home in March for my sister's wedding I had the strongest impression that this is where my family needed to stay, For Now and I was finally okay with it. So, I called Lance and told him how I felt, and not even kidding, the next day he was looking at listings for a new home.

It's been quite the process and I've had to learn how to be very patient. I also had to learn what buying a house entitles! (No one ever told me how stressful closing was going to be!) And I do suggest if you're a first-time home buyer, take a course, if it's avaliable, on buying your first home. It's amazing how much you'll learn!

Anyway, it's a perfect home just for our little family. Three bedrooms two baths a two car garage, with a nice yard, just for Layla. Oh and I can't forget my favorite part of the house...

Ah, the things I will bake this coming holiday season in MY kitchen!!

We're so blessed to have the parents that we do. Thanks Preston and Sue for taking us in for nearly a year! You have been so good to us. We love you!

Here's to yet another new chapter in our lives. We're so excited!
