our first chick-fil-a opening

if you've read my dear friend wendi's blog, then you've heard of chick-fil-a openings.
her and her husband starling are hard core chick-fil-a opening goers.
so hard core that she went to an opening when her baby brighton was only 2 weeks old, and to this past opening having mastitis! hard core i tell ya.
i think they've been to 7 openings so far.

if you're not familiar with how they work visit chick-fil-a's first 100.
lance and i showed up and were given #'s 106 and 107.
sooo...
we had to wait all night to even see if we'd make the first 100 by 6:00am.
we crossed our fingers for some drop outs.

not knowing if we'd make it, we still put up our tent, got out our lawn chairs, and prepared ourselves
for a great night with our friends. chick-fil-a fed us a great dinner, supplied ice water, and put on some
great games for everyone. it was a fun night.
(even though it was horribly hot and humid!)

we took marx along for the adventure since i'm nursing and not quite ready to leave him over night.
layla stayed with her grandma and papa and was spoiled with loves!

isn't baby brighton just adorable!?
i could just nibble on him all day. i love his little rolls.
can you see the resemblance in him and his daddy?

the oreo game.
wendi rocked it and won.
look how funny the lady in the blue tie die looks.

you have to be completely exhausted to be able to sleep like little brooklyn is.
she's a doll and totally just goes a long with the flow.

anxiously waiting at the very end of the line to see if we made it!!

lance and i ended up being 98 and 99.
soo...
we received 104 free vouchers for free food at chick-fil-a!
that's over a $600.00 value.

i'd totally do it again.

my flower bed

i know..
you're probably thinking, "how boring! a post about her flower bed?"
but honestly, seeing these beautiful, colorful flowers each day as i pull into our garage puts a
smile on my face.
flowers just make me happy.

my wonderful husband got our flower bed ready for me over mother's day weekend.
then my mom and i picked out all the plants and planted them.
i don't know what i would've done without her.
actually i do know...
i probably wouldn't have any plants yet!

now i just need somekind of shrub to put against the house.

i've been working on this post since tuesday morning...

that's how crazy my life has been the past 4 days!
adding an infant to our routine has thrown us off a bit, but i'm trying to get it all together.
i have survived it though.
4 days of me being alone with my children + one of those nights being alone without hubby...
i did it!!
my house is still standing (although not as spotless as it usually is) and we're all still breathing.
out of those 4 days, i only managed to get mascara on one day, and dressed another.
kids are so demanding...
i actually looked like a mom this week!
anyway, a little catch up..

the past month has been a blast, and we've been super busy with family and friends.
my mom arrived on april 28th, just in time for marx to arrive.
she stayed until may 21st and was an absolute angel sent from above.
she helped me out with soooo much, including getting our Layla potty trained.
(she's such a big girl now!)
i am so blessed to have such a wonderful mother.
she's beautiful too..
don't you think?

the day my mom left was rough.
i tried to keep it together because layla had a birthday party to be too,
and we had our nieces' graduation dinner along with her graduation.
i finally broke down and just cried, then felt much better.
actually i cried most of the morning.

the next day my sister arrived with her husband and 3 kids!
we had an excellent week.
monday-
we took the kids to dippy bops, a fun place for them to run, jump, and slide till they can't run, jump and slide anymore. then for dinner we headed over to a great burger joint called plaid rhino.
tuesday-
we got up early to take the kids to the zoo before it hit 100 degrees. we all still about died of heat stroke at 10:00 in the morning, but we still had fun.
wednesday-
we took the kids to lynn meadows discovery center. if you live in hattiesburg or surrounding areas, take your kids. you'll both love it. after that we went to the beach, ate lunch and let the kids play in the great gulf of mexico. (the water was so warm, makes me really nervous for hurricane season this year.) that evening we took them to the shed bbq joint. delicious!
thursday-
it stormed most of the morning so we stayed inside. when it cleared up we took a trip to the mall and did a little shopping. for dinner, i made them gumbo.
friday-
i took them to a yummy little cafe called newks. after lunch we met up with lance at the house, got the kids in their swim gear and took them swimming in cane break. when it finally cooled down a bit, we took them all fishing, every single person, including me, caught a fish. we then ended the night with cuevas fish house.
saturday-
lance and derrick got up early and went bass fishing. in the mean time i was able to talk sami into staying one more night. (i actually think they had planned to stay one more night anyway, cause we are that cool to hang out with.) when lance and derrick finally got back home, around 1:30, sami, zadie and i took off to get a frappucino and get our toes done. it was wonderful. we then took them to dinner at a yummy mexican joint called del sol with greg, amanda, denton, and kelly. it was a great night, ending with ice cream from bop's frozen custard.
sunday morning they took off around 8:30. me, lance, layla, and marx were exhausted and could barley move off the couch to get ready for church. actually lance was the only one that could. me and the kids stayed home and tried to relax UNTIL lance sends me a text that says, "hobgood and jenny are on their way, don't panic." ah...i panicked, big time. luckily i had 4 hours to get my house together, along with myself and the kids. they stayed sunday night. lance and hobgood went fishing monday morning while jenny and myself relaxed and watched say yes to the dress episodes with the kids.

so as you can see, may was quite the month. it was filled with so much excitement, that i don't even remember it passing us by. here's just a few pics, in no particular order. cause lets face it... i just don't have the time to sort them right now.

last few pics are taken with my phone, not the best quality..

we finally have internet..

..so let's get caught up!

The first thing Lance did the day we moved in was put our beds together.
Well, I thought we should make Layla's crib into a toddler bed and see how she'd do.
She did great the first couple nights.
But then, one morning I could hear her crying and when I went into her room she was no where to be seen.
She was actually underneath the bed, and did it the next morning too.
I'm not sure if she would fall off the bed and roll under or what, but soon after we put the front of the bed back on. She just wasn't ready.
Soo.. she's still in her crib.

She loves that duck..

I took this pic the morning after we moved in.
It makes me nauseous looking at it, but no worries, it's all clear now.

Labor Day:
Dane and Lacey invited us to their friends' Jared and Katie's.
Who we now consider our friends.
They are great and I just adore their three little boys.
I think they'll take great care of Layla.

Jack and Cooper loved this waterslide..

Layla did not..

It was absolutely hilarious watching her go down the first time.
Lance went with her the second time and she still hated it.
Her face is priceless.
This is Briggs.
Isn't he adorble.
I love his long eye lashes.

Mr. Cooper...

He really does like Layla,
just not so much sportin his ride with him.

I took this so I'd have a memory of what Layla had to eat at before we got our kitchen table delivered, along with her high chair.
She was a sport.
Uncle Greg and Aunt Amanda brought up her sprinker.
She was in Heaven.

The Saints have been playing..
and they're winning!
Who Dat!

She's into "dress up"
Somehow she thought her red tights looked great with this pink onesie.
And still does her tricks.
This one is called "no hands"

We made chocolate chip cookies for our new neighbors...

She's constantly right behind her daddy helping him with his honey do list.

And now we're helping her get used to this concept...
That's right Baby Spiers #2 is on it's way.
April 30, 2011 to be exact.
I'm 8 weeks in and feel miserable.
And let's face it when the big white porcelin bowl in the bathroom get's more hugs than your husband, you just don't feel like going anywhere.

Layla has been such a good sport.
She'll sit with me by the toilet and say,
"I sawry mommy.."
Just breaks my heart.

So, back to not going anywhere, we stay in most of the time and she does stuff like this to entertain herself...

just about caught up

with my blogging.

i think i've come to realize that i take waaaaaayyyyyyy to many pictures.

and when i do that, i don't have the motivation to sort, edit, name, save and post them all.
(oh, and wait patiently while they all load.)

but then i go through them all, over and over again, and i'm so glad that i have them.

have those sweet memories of the fun times we had with Ryan, Misty and the kids.

this post is random, and in no particular order. just fun to look at pics, of the kids having a good time.

Layla loved this air mattress the kids slept on every night.
Sadly, she never slept with them, just cuddled before bedtime.
Sela and Layla had a love/hate relationship.
One minute they'd or I mean Layla would be screaming at Sela,
then the next minute, they'd be playing so sweet.
Like this...
We spent a lot of time doing this...
She looks so grown with her floaties.
But she just wouldn't have it anymore with me or Lance holding her.
Or being stuck in her little tube.
She wanted to get around on her own, and that she did.
(it was so precious seeing her little legs kick herself around that pool)
Ryan may not be to happy with me for putting this up...
but it's to funny to pass.

I put some of Layla's accessories on Savana.
Of course, Layla wanted to flaunt them too.
It's been a long time since she wore a headband and a big flower in her hair.

Trevan l.o.v.e.d this box turtle.
For a bit, he contimplated on taking it home.
But wisely chose to let him go back into the woods.

This was the morning they left.
It was a pretty sad day for all of us.
