miss 3's hair

I've mentioned before that Layla's hair has been falling out.
Not just a few hairs here and there, but tons of hair.
Like hair everywhere on her pillow when she wakes up, in her car seat, all over her clothes.
And bath time was the worse, I dreaded washing her hair, cause it was big globs of hair
that would come out.
It started falling out at the end of August of last year.
We've taken her to the doctor where they even pricked her little finger to get some blood.
Well, everything looked fine.
They think what's caused it was her high fever she had due to the hand mouth and foot
she caught last year.
Telogen Effluvium is what they diagnosed her with.
It just caused to much stress on her little body.
I know it could be so much worse.
But am I entitled to be sad about her loosing her hair?
I waited 2 years for her to get it, then it just falls out!
Go figure.

Before hair loss...

After hair loss..

It's crazy hair!
She has little "baby hairs" growing in everywhere.
I reckon that's a good sign.
I just don't know what to do with it!
Any suggestions?

AND today while I was making breakfast, she decided to
cut her barbies hair so it looked like her hair.
Can I just tell you all how glad I am that it wasn't her hair that she cut!

A couple days ago she told me that she wants hair like Tangled.
Bless her little heart!

handsome thang

Before Church

After church

You have to be pretty darn fast when changing this little guy.
He's got an excellent technique of escaping!

a quick catch up with pictures

Miraculously both of my children are taking a nap,
AT THE SAME TIME.

Layla's kind of grown out of the naps. If she takes one she sleeps for 3+ hours then she's up till 11:00,
if she doesn't take one, she's tired and whinny by 4 or 5 in the afternoon. It's tough transitioning!
Anyway, she layed on the couch about 30 min ago and feel asleep, while I was nursing Marx before his nap! And now I have a few minutes for MYSELF!
WOW
It feels great.

Life's been crazy for me lately.
I'm kind of having a rough time.
Being a mom is hard, it's exhausting.
Yeah, I know I only have 2 kids, but it's been, well, exhausting.
I look in the mirror and I feel like I look like I've aged 5 years.
Then I cry.
Somedays, well, most days, if I am not up by 5, shower and get ready, it just doesn' t happen.
It's safe to say, a lot of those days I barely get to brush my teeth!
Sheesh, I'm a mess.
{sigh}
Please tell me I'm not the only mom feeling this way?!

I sent this picture to my mom the other day.
It was the END of the day, one child was asleep and I had one more to go.
Our faces say it all.

As for our beautiful blessings.
They're totally worth it.

Layla came running into my room the other day laughing and said, "Mommy, you've got to come see what I did to brother!" I was nervous.
But this is all she had done....

 Little diva...

I accidentally took this pic, and so glad I did.
It's priceless.

And I did find a few minutes of my day the other day to be crafty.
I made this headband holder for Layla.
(it's just a spray painted oatmeal canister on a candle stick!)

Marx - 9 months

Dear Marx,

You are now 9 months old!
I think this past month has been by far the hardest for you and me.
You've started to crawl and stand up on everything.
You're also starting to walk around things, which means you're
falling and bumping your head a lot.
BUT
you still insist on trying new things.
You even tried to climb up on our book shelve a couple days ago.

You are an absolute momma's boy.
If sister takes something away from you, if you bonk your head, if you're tired, if you're stuck,
heck, if anything happens to you, I'm the only one that can calm you down.
Daddy will try, and you'll cry harder and harder until he hands you over to me.
But, daddy is still the only one that can get you to sleep without a fight.
You do that well for him.

You're not sleeping well through the night anymore.
I must have bragged to much.
You wake up one or two times and nurse, then you usually end up in bed with me and daddy.
Which means I'm not completely asleep, I gotta make sure you don't roll off the bed, or get rolled on!
As for naps, you do those well now. Taking one around 10:30AM and one around 2:00PM.
Both last from an hour and a half to two hours.
Thanks goodness for that!

You love your baths.
As soon as we walk into the bathroom you start squealing and kicking your legs.
Even when we walk in there and it isn't bath time.
If sister bathes with you, you're pretty happy the whole time, even when she's
pouring water on your head.
If you bathe alone, you easily get bored and want out.
You sure do love your sister.

When I get the camera out, you know to smile.
You love baby snacks, specially the yogurt snacks.
Oh and marshmallows.
You say mamamama and bababa.
You can wave bye bye and hi, but only when YOU want.
You make the same funny face that your sister would make, but again, only when YOU
want too.
You love graham crackers.
You love your cousin Laura. (she watches you every Thurs when I go to yoga. The first few weeks you cried the whole time I was gone. Now you love it.)
You love to be naked.
And if I'm not fast when I'm changing your diaper, somehow you get away from me!
You love baby Einstein.
You play a lot different than your sister did, you have to bang everything together,
or knock things down. You always have to be making noise.
That's the boy in you!
(still trying to get used to that! so is Layla, she's constantly saying, "shhhh brother!")
You're hair is really growing in, and it's platinum blond!

When you get excited you make this sound that sounds like the grudge.
It's cute and kind of creepy!
And when you want out of your high chair, you will scream your highest pitched scream ever!
I makes all of our ears ring!
You easily get bored, I find myself moving you from room to room and giving you new
things to play with all day long. I've found I'll just about do anything to make my baby happy!

Our days can be rough, and most of the time I feel the bad days out number the
good days, but I still love you to pieces.
You are such a blessing to our family.
You're a healthy baby boy and I'm so grateful for that.
Just sensitive I guess.
(your dad won't like that I said that)
We love you Marx!!

Love,
Mommy

broccoli?

Yesterday Brooklyn came over to play with us.
These two always have so much fun together.
It was time for Marx to nurse, so that meant it was also time for their babies to nurse.
Brooklyn said, "Hold on Layla, I need to take off my broccoli." Layla said,
"Ok, I need to take off my broccoli too!"
(they meant bra. silly little girls)

and please don't judge me for this one...
I have to document it, because it's just to funny not too.

I'm sure yall know the LMFAO song Sexy and I know it.
Well, I've been quilty of listening to it a few times. It makes me want to dance ok.

Well, the other night, Layla came running in the kitchen shaking her booty
and said (while looking at her reflection in the refridgerator), "I'm sexy and I know it!"
Lance turned to me and said, "What did she just say?"
I just looked at him like, uh-oh, I've been caught.
We turned our heads and laughed so she couldn't see, then after we had control over ourselves we
explained to her that we should sing it like, "I'm a big girl and I know it!" instead.
She agreed.

She kills us!

layla's 3rd birthday party

This year it was all about Dora.
She loves herself some Dora!

She's been so so silly lately.
Some funny things she's said...

calls my nursing pad an ipad.
when she has a wedgie, she calls it a wedge jeep.
calls her rapunzel doll, e-punzel.
calls her grandma shellie, grauma.
if she really likes you, she'll say, "you're my best cousin ever!"
everybody is her cousin.

yesterday we had to run to town.
She's very good at getting out of her seat belt so I made sure to strap her in extra tight.
She got upset with me and said,
"Mom! I'm gonna turn into the hulk! And I'm gonna mess your car up!"
(she likes to watch the Marvel comics with her daddy, go figure huh?!)

we just love her to pieces, I still remember her being this little...

and now she's so big!
