Easter Fun

Layla and I got to go visit the Easter bunny out at my old job. I was worried she'd cry and be scared, because she's starting to do that a lot lately with strangers, but with the help of Aunt Barbara, she had the biggest grin on her face! We had a lot of fun catching up with all my co-workers, and seeing all the kids.
Today we also dyed Easter eggs. I know Layla won't remember this, but I want to always keep it a tradition in our family, just like my mom and dad did. We're excited for tomorrow, I've talked to the Easter bunny and he has some cute things in store for Lay Lay!

Preparation

I guess he's just preparing me for the day when he does this... Heaven help me.

{Jaren and Uncle Lance}

Look What I Can Do!

Layla has finally figured out how to hold her rattle and eat it! Now, if she drops it, she can't figure out how to pick it back up, but I'm sure she'll learn that before we know it. She's such a smart little girl. I'm always hanging little toys above her head and she'll just stare at them (even going cross eyed) and try to figure out how to get to them. I love watching her learn.
I was just so proud of her. It may be such a simple thing everyone else, but it's a big step to me! Now she'll start to entertain herself!
Uncle Greg got Lay Lay these cute sunglasses. They're a bit big, but we wanted to try them out anyway. They didn't last long... We'll see how she likes them in Florida next weekend.
Another fun toy! Yes, it's from Uncle Greg and Aunt Amanda. She's still not quite sure of it yet. Right now, she'd rather be sitting up and watching what's going on.
With Lance working nights, hanging out in bed with him just doesn't happen to often, so of course I had to snap a picture.

Daddy's Little Girl

Whenever Lance walks into the room Layla just lights up. She must get tired of being with me all day, so when he's around she's just so happy. I can try for hours to get her to squeal and talk like this, but when Lance walks in, she'll do it for him in no time, even if she's a bit fussy. She loves her daddy, and I can't blame her.

OMG

Today, while I was checking some stuff on the computer, my wonderful husband thought it would be a good idea to put Layla on my shoulders. Of course I started nibbling on her toes and what-not, then all of the sudden I felt something really warm running down my cheek. OMG, she up chucked in my hair again! Good thing I hadn't washed it yet! You just wait Lance Tyler...
Don't worry, I still love her to pieces!

My Obsessions

My brother-in-law, Greg, introduced me to this store, and I can't believe I've never been to one! OMG I hope heaven is just like it! I'm sure Lance is totally regretting letting me go into Williams-Sonoma, because now, it's all I talk about (and think about). I absolutely love this store, and if you love to cook and bake, you'll love it too! I could spend hours in there!

Isn't it beautiful!!
My other obsession: The Food Network!
Gotta love Bobby Flay. The Inventor on Iron Chef America.

Mmm... Yummy Italian eats. She's pretty too. Give it up for Giada!
She's really hard to watch because she's a horrible actress, but her cooking it delightful! Lance and I can't wait to watch Kristen Wiig impersonate her on Saturday Night Live.
Ina Garten
I have to admit, at first I couldn't stand to watch her or even listen to her. But her recipes are the recipes I cook the most. But watch out! She's uses ALOT of butter! The southern, Paula Dean.
Ah, and you gotta love the 30 minutes meals right?!
So, whenever I have the TV on during the day, this is the channel it stays on. Hopefully, with Layla watching it so much, she'll be my little culinary artist!

Catching Up

I have a lot of catching up to do! With starting a new blog, to my church calling, to being a mother, to being a homemaker, and everything in-between I've been a little busy and haven't been very good at updating you all on our little angel. Her and her daddy mean the world to me and make life so exciting! I love being a mommy and a wife to my two best buddies!
Layla isn't quite a fan of the bumbo yet, but we're working on it. A few minutes here and there are just enough for her. She's enjoying Tom and Jerry right here in her little night gown.
Papa Spiers just can't wait for the day when Layla will be able to ride around on the 4-wheeler with him and work in his big garden. But I'm just not ready for that yet!
She actually enjoyed just sittin' on it and listening to the motor run.
Doesn't she make the cutest Elvis Presley!!
I love the side profile.
She knew the bubbles were on top of her head. She kept turning her head side to side and the bubbles would just bounce all over!
We LOVE polka dots!
After I took this picture she tipped over and still had a big smile on her face! It was quite funny.

This is how we take our Sunday nap. It's the only way I'll get it in!
Ew I just love her! Don't you just want to squeeze those cheeky's!!
