tricking her with her treats

Lance and I decided to play a little trick on Layla yesterday after church.
She's so obsessed with her Halloween candy, and constantly asking for a piece of it. The first thing she asked for when we got home was a treat....

I wish I would have kept the camera rolling for about 10 more seconds after I showed her her candy.
She said, "you tricked me and hid my candy in the drawer you silly sally!"
It was adorable.

Marx is 6 months old

Dear Marx,

6 months old? Really?
This makes me sad. Kind of.

Makes me sad because you're growing super fast. Happy because I love how much happier you are!
You've been a completely different baby the last month.
Just happy!
It's great.
(all except for this last week. you've had a horrible virus in your lungs, and been pretty miserable)

You've started rolling again.
And not just from tummy to back, but from back to tummy too.
I'll put you in one place on the floor, and when I come to check on you, you're in a different place, exploring everything that can be explored at your level.

It's taken about a month for you to show interest in sitting up.
You usually just throw your body back when I try to work with you, but now you're actually trying.
Trust me, you'll love it when you can sit up and look at the world in a different perspective.

You've started blowing raspberries.
Specially when I feed you baby food that you don't like.
Like sweet peas for example.
They're not your favorite, and I don't blame you.
I won't eat them either.

You love Baby Einstein.
You love your big sister.
You love to look at yourself in the mirror.
You love to sit on the counter top in your bouncy while I prepare meals.
You LOVE to be outside.
You love to sit on my lap while I eat my meals.
(and you watch every bite I take go from my plate into my mouth.)
You love our exer-saucer.
You love your baths
and
You love to be nursed to sleep.

You don't love your carseat.
You don't love to be swaddled anymore.
You don't love to be rocked, or held like a baby.
and
You don't love to be alone for very long periods of time.

You still have a great sleep schedule.
Naps:
10:30AM
2:00PM
6:30PM
Going to bed by 9:00PM, and waking up by 7:30AM

You're favorite baby foods are:
rice cereal
banana's
sweet potatoes
apples
and
carrots
But you're all time favorite is to nurse.
And that's quite alright with me :)

Those two little teeth of yours are really starting to show.
They make you look so grown.
They're adorable.

You're always getting comments on how handsome you are
and how beautiful your eyes are.
And yes, everyone thinks you look like your daddy.
I do to.

You weigh 16 lbs.
16 lbs of pure sweet, juciy babyness.

We are all just so in love with you (:

Happy Half a Year Baby Boy!!

Love,
Your Mommy

Matt and Ashley's Wedding

our niece, Ashley, got married last weekend.
it was a beautiful, sweet, and simple wedding.

I was upset when I took this picture because my camera wasn't on the right setting. But, then I looked at it I was glad that it wasn't. I think it's perfect. My mother-in-law is awesome. She's never afraid to shake it!

(love this pic of you and sue, lacey. nevermind the man in the pink)

I text Ashley the morning of the wedding and told her I was thinking of her, and wished her luck. I also told her to let me know if she needed anything. She then asked if I'd do her hair. Thinking I'd just curl it I gladly told her I'd do it. After I curled it, she asked me to do flappers?! I looked at her like she was crazy! What the heck are flappers?! Thanks to youtube, I was able to pull it off. I think her hair turned out beautifully. It looked great with her dress!

(i love him)

(some of the family. don't you love how lance is letting marx eat my hair?!)

(i'm so blessed when it comes to my in-laws. they're seriously the best)

halloweeny

halloween was great this year.
we just took layla around our little neighborhood then uncle dane and aunt lacey's.
i love these moments...
these memories...

after we'd stop at one house, she'd say,
"ok mom! we gotta go to the next one!"
i'd gladly agree.
she's getting to big.

mr. marx slept the whole time.
i'm sure he'll be running around the neighborhood next year.

trunk or treat

we had our ward trunk or treat last night.
layla was in heaven going from car to car saying her well rehearsed, "trick or treat!?"
if you need any ideas on decorating a trunk, here is ours...

(i don't think we broke $10 on the decor. Just use stuff around your house!)

this girl is becoming more like her daddy when it comes to taking pictures.

marx before the party...

then during..
he didn't know what to think about all the costumes and crazy kids running around.
he stayed wide eyed like this for awhile.
funny boy.
