he did it

after weeks of trying to decide whether or not to do it...
and even coming to a decision that he wasn't going to.
he did it anyway.
he bought himself a motorcycle.

Layla is already in love with it.
i even went on a ride with him and really enjoyed it.
(even though i wasn't totally thrilled when he did end up buying it)
but i guess a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do?

he works hard for us, i'll let him slide with this one ;)

i think she's what makes it look so good.

as you can see, it's taken over his spot in the garage.
it's his new baby.
(in fact, he even changed our desktop background picture, which, btw, was a family picture, to a picture of his bike. he's such a man.)

how to make your own cupcake stand

my wonderful friend amanda shared with me how to make this
adorable inexpensive cupcake stand.
so..
i thought i'd share with you.

now, apparently it's illegal to use postal boxes this way, but believe me when i say
"i didn't know!"
they were all just the perfect size, and hey, i spent $44 dollars
the same day on just stamps, so i think it was worth it for the free boxes.

anyway, go get you some free boxes.
i used two boxes for my base and two more to make the stand.

 cover in the desired colors
 decorate anyway you'd like.

 stack on your cupcakes!
(and any other extras you may have)

total cost:
$15

side note:
it may cost you a little more if you have to go out and buy the wrapping paper and ribbon.
i hit the jackpot this week at hobby lobby and bought some of the ribbon for 50% off.
the wrapping paper was the most expensive part.

Ahoy ahoy...

Wendi's having a boy...
is what the inivitation read.

This morning, I along with a couple wonderful women in our ward threw Wendi
and Mr. Brighton a Nautical/Sailor themed baby shower.

I was in charge of cupcakes and the cupcake stand, along with the pompoms.
(if you like cupcakes with amazing icing click on the links below. you'll love me for sharing)
(both from my favorite food blog our best bites)

did i ever mention that my wonderful mother bought me their cookbook?!
it's awesome, go get you one!

{Jessie: 37 wks, Wendi: 34 wks}
we are both SO ready!

girls day = fun day

i can't believe me and my girlfriends have been doing this for a month now
and i'm just posting about it.
and i've only taken pictures of two of the dates.
i'm slacking big time.

so, every Wednesday me and a bunch of the girls in my ward and purvis ward get together with our kiddos.
we eat yummy food, talk, eat some more, referee our kids, talk, talk and talk!!
(all of you girls that haven't been able to make it yet, please try, it's so much fun!)

it's a day we put aside just for US.
we start at 11:00AM and keep doing what we're doing till either our kids are worn out,
or it's time to get home, because we've gotta get dinner ready for the dads.
yesterday, stacy and i stayed at wendi's until 4:30!
it was wonderful.

so rewind to last wednesday.
3/30/2011
we had it at our house.
i made
(click to read tutorial on our best bites)
wendi brought a salad
stephanie brought a veggie tray
jennifer brought yummy cookies
stacy brought fruit
and
emily brought drinks.

it was a fun day.
we ended it at 4:00.

 yesterday we had it at wendi's
of course, we did the same as always, but let the kids swim this time because it was such a nice day.
we all have little tan lines now.

 {layla}

 {brooklyn}

 {taelynn}

 {elly}

 {preston}
poor guy...no worries, we have two more boys on the way.

 i asked layla if i could take a picture of her cute booty.
she stopped and said, "sure mama!"
she then turned around and posed for me, perfectly!
she's so funny.

by 4:30 it was just layla, brooklyn, and taelynn.
brooklyn and layla were just enjoying each other's company.
wendi and i just love to watch them interact and grow up together.

thanks girls for making it easier to make this my home away from home.
i don't know what i'd do without you!

to use or not to use?

my sister, Christy, is so talented!
she made me this adorable car seat canopy, not even knowing what colors i was
planning on doing little M's room.
i'd say she knows me quite well.

so anyway, i had yet to find the perfect material for his room,
until i opened this at my baby shower.
i LOVE it.

what do yall think?
is it to feminine for a little boys room?
(keep in mind that he'll be a baby boy, not a man)

lance thinks it is, but i just love it.
i'd also do another solid brown material and probably another burnt orange material.
women... help me out!

so blessed that he's mine

after working an unexpected looong and busy 14 hour day,
he still thinks about me.

i love him.

loving the sping

although, i wouldn't call 90 degrees "spring weather."
but since there isn't any humidity yet, i'll take it.
we do this a lot lately...
