Papa & "Grauma" came to town!

My parents went on a cruise that left out of New Orleans, so before they ported out
they came and stayed with us for a few days. Then, when they got back, they stayed for another 4 days! It was wonderful!! And such a treat!

Here's a just a list of things we did:
- Watched Lance play softball
- Ate Popeye's
- My mom put me through some awesome Crossfit exercises
- Spent LOTS of time outside in our somewhat spring weather
(is 80 degrees considered spring if it's not humid?)
- Met up with them in New Orleans when they got back
- Went to Cafe Du Monde and ate some delicious beignets
- Went to The Aquarium of America's
- Ate at Timeout on the riverwalk
- Went to Picayune for my mother-in-laws birthday where we ate at Jack's and then had some yummy German Chocolate cake.
- My dad fixed a stopped up pipe in our backyard. Layla help by playing in the mud.
- Did some Easter shopping
- Papa and Layla played lots of Barbies
- Papa rigged up his car to get the tubing back to our house.
(fit right in here in the south)
- Went to The Hunger Games
- Ate Chick-Fil-A
- And spent evenings watching Marx and Layla wrestle around.
They're wonderful entertainers.
Gotta love Layla and her silly comments and watching Marx walk around
with his arms straight in the air.
He thinks he quite the man now that he can walk from couch to couch.

We love you mom and dad!
Thanks for all the fun and all you did for us!
Can't wait till next month :)

horizontal

Last week I had a little fun and painted some horizontal lines in our guest/kids bathroom.
It was stressful for a moment, because everything I was researching on "how to
tape and paint horizontal lines" just wasn't helping.

I was having a hard time getting the taping EXACTLY straight.
Really all I needed to do was ask my hubby.
He told me to try using my straight edge that I use when I cut fabric to make the lines.
Then tape.
Duh Jessie!
That's why I need him.

Anyway, I love how it turned out.
Now I just need to accessorize the walls.

Next project:
Our Entry way!

our own subway art

After researching how to make subway art with vinyl I finally
decided to give it a shot with my Silhouette CAMEO.
It was actually a bit easier than I thought it would be.

I started with making a list of things that described our family or things we're
working on as a family (like "patience" for example)
I also wanted to include our past addresses with our weddding date and our
children's birth dates.

I love how it turned out.
It has a little flaw that I don't really think anyone notices but myself.
But hey, it was my first go around!

a few more shots from the park

I'm researching lenses for my camera.
I'm leaning towards a 50mm lens.
Soo,
I played around with my friend Wendi's and I'm sold.

I told Lance that's what I want for mother's day! :)

our little smarty pants

Layla is totally into learning right now.
If fact she asks me every morning, "Mom, will I be going to school today?"
We actually haven't even started "going" to school yet.
I'll start her this fall in pre-school.
Maybe.
I'm debating on putting her in, or doing a joy school with my friend.
Part of me is ready for that 2 or 3 hour break twice a week, and part of me is
not ready to let her go!
It's all up in the air.
Any suggestions mothers?

Anyway, she loves her colors.
So... I made these for her.

gotta love the tongue and the lazy eyes...
and I do dress my child,
in clothes.
but if she gets ANYTHING, like this day I believe she spilled a little water on her clothes at lunch, she thinks she needs to change into her jammies.
love her personality.

park date

you know what's sad?
this wonderful city of hattiesburg that I live in doesn't have a big community park.
it's ridiculous.
so me and my friends had to drive our kiddlets 20 min. out of town to go to a park that didn't even have swings!
BUT
we still had a great time.
and enjoyed the spring weather, that we'll probably only have for a couple weeks before it's in the mid 80's with 100% humidity.
oh wait, it was in the mid 80's last week with 90% humidity, so it's already here!
crazy southern weather!

i love how he chews with his front teeth. adorable!

sleepy eyes

You can always tell when Marx gets a really good nights sleep.
His eyes will be extremely puffed up.
I think it's adorable.
Although, this particular morning, he didn't even look like my baby!
(and his baby breath isn't baby breath anymore, how sad is that?)
