Valentine Fever

I just love Valentine's Day, but it has totally creeped up on me this year! This past Sunday I was talking to some of the sisters in our ward about a play date and I realized that Valentines was a week away. So I decided to throw a party for the little ones so that we mom's could have an excuse to get together!
For Layla's Valentine to her friends I got a cute idea on http://www.makeandtakes.com/. We took a few of Grandma Spiers' old crayons and recycled them! We made chuncky valentine crayons! I think they turned out pretty cute.
Crafts for the little ones...
Valentine bags...

For the main course we had heart shaped pb and j's. Just perfect for the kiddos.

Natalie, decorating her bag..
Layla, going to work on hers...

Decorating sugar cookies...

Jennifer, Jody, Savannah, and I
A little story behind these:
My Grandma Marcia Critton makes us all giant sugar cookies, with our names on them, that look just like these, every year for Valentine's Day. (talk about a run on sentence!) She's all I could think about while I was baking and icing them. I sure have missed getting my cookie these past 3 years. Maybe she'll make me some when I go home for Catlin's wedding ;-). Anyway, mine were yummy, but not the same as Grandma's cookie. It's such a special memory I'll always have of her.
Happy Valentine's Week!

Splishin and a Splashin

I just had to get some pictures of our baby in her bath! It's her favorite place at about 8:30PM. From day one, it's been placed in HER schedule, and most of the time, if she doesn't get it, we have a long night. She needs her bath!
She's very good at ignoring me what I get out the camera.
One morning Lance got her out of bed and she had little red bumps all over her. I panicked and took her to the doctor ASAP. Turns out she caught a Hives Virus and we just had to let it run it's course. Keeping Benadryl in her every 4-6 hours was the only thing that kept it under control, but when I put her in a warm bath it brought them right back out. Even though her bum is rosey, it's still so cute and dimpley!

I love this picture and that smile. Of course, it's only her dad that can make her do it.
This is what she does when I tell her to smile...
(I just wanna kiss those lips!)
She likes to put her face in the water and drink it. It's so funny when she comes up and there's bubbles on her, and she just goes on her merry way playing.
Bubbles on the tip of her nose...

Who Dat?!...Saints ALL DAT!

Superbowl XLIV Champions
New Orleans Saints
The calm before the storm...

Uncle worm wasn't to happy about the win.
Story: When the Saints were 8-0 he said he'd go back to church if they won the Superbowl.. ha better get cha a new suit worm!
So this year we hosted a Superbowl party... It was the first for me. We had more food than you can even imagine and it was all delicious! Lance was so calm for this game compared to the last. He was actually able to enjoy it. Right before Peyton threw that beautiful interception he said... "There's going to be a turnover, I can feel it." Sure enough it happened and the Spiers' house was out of control! What a fun night it was for our family...even our Utah family celebrated with us 1700 miles away.

Armed and Dangerous

Since Lance had yesterday off, and it was a beautiful day we decided to spend some quality time together and go shooting. So, I put Layla down for a nap with Grandma and we were off! Now, I must brag on my husband. He's amazing. He'd shoot his 40 like it was nothing.. one handed, left handed, approaching the "suspect" and shooting between his steps. He'd also give me scenario's and tell me exactly where he'd be shooting, and sure enough, he did. I'm so proud! As for me, I think we were both quite surprised. I'm no John Wayne, but I hit center mass with every shot. (all except for one..tehehe) Anyway, you probably shouldn't mess with us... ;)

Him... getting it all ready for me.

Don't you love my LaCrosse boots he got me for Christmas? I wasn't to sure about them when I opened the gift, but now I love them! Protects me from mud, water, snakes, weeds.. you name it!
That's what sleeps next to me every night when Lance is gone. Gotta love her.

Not bad aye?
